It is a low-carb diet to lose muscle? If so, what is the most effective way to lose body fat?

I do cardio 3 times a week associated with strength strength training twice a week. I used to eat the right carbs (Just like multigrain bread, wheat and granola, etc) and have lost 15 kg in the last 6 months with 10% less body fat. Recently, a health teacher I met told me that low carb is even better and I will lose weight faster. I since (for one week) was low in carbohydrates and feels weird being in a low-carbohydrate, fat and protein diet since I'm on a diet low in fat for a while. I also did some research and it seems that diets low in carbohydrates are wrong. Is this true? For Please advise. Thanks.

The weight is lost initially in a low-carb diet is water. The body needs carbohydrates to burn for energy. Can not be much of the fat cells, but muscle cells. All professionals who spoke strongly recommend diets low in carbohydrates.
